There is a market sizing tutorial that you will find posted under the Pre-Module Assignments tab. There is a primer, an Excel worksheet, and a number of videos posted, and then a folder named Market Sizing Exercises. Choose ONE of the four exercises to complete. After you have finished, upload your Excel on Moodle for the exercise you have chosen (Bacon, Helium, Ketchup, or Restaurant Device). This assignment will be graded based on how diligent is your attempt to size the US, UK or French market
Over the last few years, bacon has become even more popular in America as the economy rebounds. Additionally, new types of bacon like thick cut bacon, extra crispy bacon, and Hungarian bacon have entered the market to wide acclaim. Bacon festivals that celebrate the use of bacon in unconventional ways have proliferated and “artisanal” bacon producers have set up shop selling premium bacon to Americans in cities. Despite this boom in bacon, some Americans have turned away from the product because of health reasons, religious reasons, or because of ethical issues with meat.
Using research and assumptions, estimate how much money the average American spends on bacon per year.
